Meeting Women Where They Are

The Women Empowerment Project works through the community. Our team travels out to meet women’s groups face to face, hears what they are struggling with, and brings support directly to them.

What the Visits Look Like

  • Community gatherings — sitting down with women’s groups in their own area
  • Listening first — learning what each group says it needs most
  • Practical support — responding to those priorities with the resources we have
  • Coming back — following up instead of treating it as a one-off visit

Why This Matters

Women in Malawi carry much of the responsibility for their households while having the least access to opportunity:

  1. Limited access to education and training
  2. Cultural expectations that restrict choices
  3. Few role models and mentors
  4. Financial constraints

Reaching women in their own communities is where closing those gaps begins.
